Event description

Did you know there are other forms of shadow puppets aside from what can be made with your fingers? Discover the complex (but easy to make!) shadow puppets with a 2000 year history, and make your own story.

What is Folk Art?
The definition of folk art varies, but most descriptions offer a common set of criteria: It has either a utilitarian or decorative function, it is reflective of the culture from which it originated, and can be self-taught or taught informally. By making folk art we can learn international history, deepen our sense of self-identity, and create bridges with those from differing cultures.
